  • Greetings,

My name is Kimyetta Lewis, I am a concerned parent, Disgusted by the lack of publicity, surrounding Mr. Bennett's racist statements, and further more, extremely disappointed with you Mr.Vallas for continuing to consider employing this company to work with my children.

I would seriously have to question the intentions of any educational organization claiming to work for the interest and the empowerment of a particular ethnic group, yet, internally hold that ethnic group responsible for threatening human society.

As a parent, we should have up to the minute facts regarding this situation, there is not one mention of this incident on the Philadelphia School District website. I believe that had Mr. Bennett's statement been directed to another ethnic or religious group this situation would have been resolved immediately.

Mr. Vallas, I refuse to tolerate another day of this non sense. I am feed up with this educational system, depriving our children of equal education, supplying our children third world educational tools. You cannot camouflage this biased educational system any longer. It is time for us to address the disparities in the School District, and we will not stop until we are satisfied.

In 2003, I spoke with you at a community meeting facilitated by Mr. Johnson, at that time I told you that by removing the libraries out of public schools you were in fact committing a crime against our children. You continued to move forward in that process. Which, to me indicates that you care less about the children in which you service than you realize?

Mr. Vallas, if your children's education depended on the limited and quickly depleting services offered through the school district of Philadelphia, how would you resolve your issue? I wonder if you would allow your child to suffer through that injustice, or would you gather your resources and demand change. I hope you choice would be the latter of the two, because that's what's transpiring Mr. Vallas.

I hope that I am invited to participate in any conversations regarding this matter.

I am looking forward to meeting with you again.

    Sincerely.. DETERMINED

    • Pardon the errors throughout the previous message, however, I am sure anyone reading this messages understands my anger with the School District. Mr. Johnson, I tried to get in contact with you a few days ago, I hope that you and I can speak prior to the meeting date. Thanks Mr. Shipman for telling me about this site. I am sure to utilize this site often. Please tell as many people as possible about this meeting, everyone needs to be involved in issues regarding our children... thanks..
